Kristen Andreasen is the Managing Partner of Intrepid Citizen.
With more than 25 years in private wealth management, she advised high-net-worth families at JPMorgan, Bernstein, and Northern Trust. Those institutions shaped her standards for judgment, discretion, and truly hands-on service - the level America's wealthiest families expect.
When Kristen entered investment migration, she found that standard absent. The leading firms in the field were all European - highly knowledgeable about the programs, but built for volume and unaccustomed to the personalized service expected by U.S. high-net-worth clients. Residency and citizenship were often sold as standalone products, disconnected from a family's broader financial, tax, and legacy objectives.
She founded Intrepid Citizen to close that gap. Every strategy is designed in tandem with the client's wealth, tax, and estate plans - never as an add-on. Her clients include founders post-exit, multi-generational families, and global entrepreneurs making decisions that will shape their families for generations. The work is anchored in four core outcomes: wealth preservation, family security, lifestyle continuity, and long-term optionality.
An Investment Migration Council Member (IMCM), Kristen writes and speaks regularly on global mobility, citizenship policy, and Plan B strategies for American families.
Why we exist.
There was a clear gap in the American planning community - and the attorneys, CPAs, and estate professionals serving high-net-worth families could feel it.
Their clients were increasingly asking about second residencies and citizenship, yet there was no strong referral option. The field was dominated by European firms built for volume, not for meaningful collaboration with a family's existing advisors or for delivering the depth of service U.S. clients expect. Sophisticated planners were left choosing between transactional program sellers or attempting to answer complex questions outside their expertise.
We founded Intrepid Citizen to fill that gap - to be the trusted partner that attorneys, CPAs, and trust and estate professionals can confidently recommend. A firm that respects the primary advisor relationship, coordinates seamlessly with the client's legal, tax, and estate counsel, and leaves the client better served than before.
We deliberately work differently: a small number of families each year, each served directly by an experienced advisor. As members of the Investment Migration Council (IMC), the industry's leading professional body, our partners and counsel have successfully guided more than 250 families through programs in Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Malta, the Caribbean, the United States, and beyond.
How we run the firm.
The experienced advisor who takes your first call remains your point of contact through every renewal, filing, and citizenship application. There is no transition memo, no associate inheriting your file. This is non-negotiable.
We accept a limited number of new families each year. We turn away engagements that aren't the right fit - for the program, for the firm, or for the family. We expect the same scrutiny in return.
Our clients do not appear on our website. They do not write public testimonials by name. The only place you will hear about our work is from someone who was personally referred to us - quietly.
A second passport is a five-to-ten-year arc. We structure engagements accordingly: low ongoing fees, regular check-ins, and decade-long relationships rather than transactional ones.
A private conversation is the best place to start.
Thirty minutes with an experienced advisor. We listen first — to your family, your timeline, and the future you're building. Then we'll tell you, candidly, whether we can help.
You speak directly with an experienced advisor — not an intake associate.
